The Mannar Magistrate’s Court on Wednesday extended the remand of 36 Indian fishermen, arrested by the Sri Lankan Navy personnel while fishing in seas off Talaimannar on different dates, to October 7.
Mannar Magistrate Aanandhi Kanagarathnam extended the remand of the fishermen, arrested on charges of violating International Maritime Boundary Line, till October 7.
While 30 fishermen, from Rameswaram, were arrested on September 11, the rest were arrested on September 9.
They were arrested by Talaimannar navy personnel and produced at court through the Mannar Fisheries Inspector Office.
