The Education Ministry has confirmed that next year’s Grade 5 Scholarship Examination will have reduced difficulty level.
Secretary of the Ministry of Education,  Anura Dissanayake said the decision to make the paper easier was in line with the views of the National Education Commission, who were advised by psychologists, educationists and doctors that the Scholarship Exam needs to be made more age-appropriate.
Dissanayake added that the Department of Examinations has begun setting up model papers in line with the new guidelines.He noted that a student will be given one paper at next year’s exam.
