The Perahara will commence from the eastern entrance of the Bellanwila Viharaya and travel along Vihara Mawatha, Dehiwala Maharagama main road, and return to Bellanwila Junction through Nedimala Junction and Pepiliyana road. Thereafter the Perahara will proceed through Rathmalana road to Sri Somarathna Mawatha and vihara Mawatha back to the Viharaya.
The Bellanwila Esala festival will conclude with the water cutting ceremony and alms giving for gods (deva dana) at the Boralesgamuwa, Aththidiya ferry on Sunday morning (31), Government Information Department says.
The 64th annual Esala Maha Perahera Festival of the Bellanwila Rajamaha Vihara commenced on 14 August.
